The Brilliant Star is the yellow shard of the ata'mal crystal.[1] It was taken from Velen at the beginning of the orcs' rampage across Draenor. It calms the carrier's emotions, purifying them,[1] allowing them clarity in their decisions.[2] This especially affects casters, allowing a manipulation of the arcane and elemental magics rarely paralleled elsewhere.[2] This was useful in the orcs' destruction of the draenic forces.[2] Its current location is unknown.
